Kevin Ollie gave Connecticut some early assurance that he is indeed the right man to succeed longtime coach Jim Calhoun. Making his head coaching debut and behind 25 points from Shabazz Napier, the Huskies upset No. 14 Michigan State 66-62 in the inaugural SEARS Armed Forces Classic. UConn led most of the way and by as many as 16 points in the first half of the game, which is the centerpiece of ESPN’s fourth annual America’s Heroes: A Salute to Our Veterans, a five-day initiative that honors veterans and troops in programming across the network’s U.S. media platforms from Wednesday, Nov. 7 through Sunday, Nov. 11.
